Promotional Products and Ad Specialties

BrandAwareness

Using promotional products and ad specialties creates brand awareness to your clients, prospects and yes even your employees. Even though 30% of the products used are hats, t-shirts, polos and other apparel .The list for the other 70% can almost seem endless, for the items you can use for your business. Executive gifts and giveaways like pens, pencil, key tags, mugs, water bottles, office, home and kitchen. The options are endless and cost effective ranging from under a dollar to $10.00. You have control on when or how they’re distributed and to whom you distribute to. MASS mdedia like tv, radio, newspapers, classifieds, and magazines don’t offer this type of control to the small business owner. After all, that is one of the reasons you started your own business isn’t it, to have more control over your own destiny. In the future we’ll discuss more on promotional products and ad specialties and how we at MCPROSAD can help you implement them into the marketing of your business.

NuMED INC

Here is why I love doing what I do every week I meet with businesses from different industries. From mini storage units, auto dealers, real estate, stores, restaurants, spirits stores, home inspection, paving, tire centers and most recently a winery. As you can see it's a wide range and if I missed you please for give me. So you see before MCPROSAD can even think about you buying we have to learn what it is you do. Most of the time we help provide marketing and advertising for businesses. Recently though we had the opportunity to help NuMED Inc put together a package for an annual employee golf tournament. While doing our research we learned actually what NuMED INC is about, what they do, why they do it, and who they do it for. Sure their products can help us but, who they help the most is right there in their logo. NuMED For Children.

As parent of two children one of which is a cancer survivor. I know what its like watching your child in pain and not being able to do anything. I would like to say thank you to the founder of NuMED INC not just for the opportunity of working with them but, for what they do.Not only do they do it in the US but they also do it around the world and  that is giving children a chance at life.

NuMED INC, History

Since 1982, NuMED has been developing, manufacturing and delivering innovative cardiovascular medical products for the smallest of patients to adults with heart defects.

We provide physicians with the highest quality devices for diagnosing and treating congenital heart disease or compromised peripheral arteries. With the help of our distributors worldwide, we have improved the lives of patients around the world by supplying our defect-free product line in a rapid response time. Many of our products have been designed to respond to the specific needs of doctors, technicians and nurses.

Our commitment to meet our customer’s expectation by creating better products and providing better services will continue to improve with our ongoing quality process. That is why NuMED will continue to lead the world of pediatrics!

NuMED Inc. and NuMED Canada Inc., manufacturers of Angioplasty and Valvuloplasty catheters, have a long standing commitment in meeting our customer’s expectations by providing a high quality product. At NuMED, we see quality improvement as a continual process, aimed at satisfying these expectations and requirements at every stage.

With over 40 years experience in the cardiovascular catheter field, Mr. Allen J. Tower has established a proud legacy in helping children around the world with congenital heart defects. He has established the following companies:

NuMED Inc., founded in Hopkinton, New York, U.S.A. in 1984, consists of a manufacturing facility; an extrusion facility, which has experience working with and extruding a full range of catheter materials; and a fully equipped Research & Development department, which is responsible for the design feasibility, FDA testing, and introduction of many catheter designs.

NuMED Canada Inc., founded in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada in 1990, was originally formed to sell and market medical angioplasty devices purchased from the parent company, to cater to the needs of the worldwide market and with the intent of establishing a manufacturing department. In September 2000, NuMED Canada Inc. moved their operations to a new facility. The new building consists of a modern manufacturing department which caters to the needs of the medical community of over 50 countries worldwide with export being 90% of the total product throughout.

Word of Mouth Advertising

What is word of mouth advertising (WOM)? According to entrepreneur.com WOM is an unpaid form of promotion in which satisfied customers tell other people how much they like a business, product, or service.

From Wikipedia, the (free encyclopedia) we get WOM is the passing of information from person to person by oral communication. Wikipedia also tells us the oldest form of WOM is storytelling.

Today word of mouth isn’t just what you hear from your neighbors, family, friends, and business colleagues. Oh no it’s also what you hear from Facebook friends, Linkedin connections, Google Circles, Twitter tweets, and any other form of social media. It doesn’t matter if you’re in retail, real estate, automotive, construction, doctor, or lawyer ect….Word of mouth is one of if not the best form of advertising you can have.

Now you’re probably thinking Greg what are you saying don’t you sell promotional products and ad specialties. Well yes and no what I’m truly selling is a creative idea that promotes and advertises your business. Promotional products / ad specialties are the media used to bringing that idea to life. So how does all this tie into you and your business? For instance let’s say that your customer/client isn’t running down the street screaming at the top of their lungs about how they love you. What can help boost WOM advertising? You got it promotional /ad specialties! Someone uses a pen, sees a key tag, calendar, t-shirt, decal or whatever the product may be. That sparks the conversation about who you are, what you do, and where you’re located. Today being the fast paced society that  it is you need  to keep your company name in front of your customers and prospects alike. If you don’t your competitor will.

In the LIGHTING BOLT Vol. 1 Issue # 4

Why Promotional Products?

You hear a lot about the economy these days. How businesses, government agencies, and yes even non-profit organizations are doing cut backs, on there spending. They try to  find more cost effective ways to fit within their budget. While at the same time trying to reproduce the same results or better.  It cost 6 to5 times more to get a new customer as it does to keep one that already have.  In a study conducted by the Advertising Specialties Institute called the Power of Promotional Products resulted in the following statistics.

  • 84% of end-users can name the advertisers on the items they receive
  • 62% have done business with the advertiser AFTER receiving the item
  • End-users keep products for 7 months
  • The average cost-per-impression of a promotional product = $0.004
  • The CPI for advertising specialties beats all forms of media (except billboards).
Why promotional products? To put it plain, simple, and to the point because  not only are they  cost effective they produce results for your bottom line. That is what's important right?

A PENNY FOR YOUR THOUGHTS

PURDUE UNIVERSITY STUDY
According to a study at Purdue University, the average American visits their refrigerator 22 times a day. That figures out to 8,030 times a year! It also means magnets attached to the refrigerator are still one of the most inexpensive ways for businesses to gain exposure to their customers and prospects. Each magnet showcases their basic business message: Name, Service or Product, Location and Phone Number (who, what, where message of every sign and business card).
A medium stock shape magnet in the Best Buys 2011 catalog, at 500 piece quantity is $0.35 each. This calculates out to 1.6 cents per contact based on 22 times per day. However, take into consideration the entire year with 8,030 exposures and each exposure costs just a tiny fraction of a penny!
